Gladiators Ready for Home Opener

Albuquerque finally has its very own professional football team.

Right in the heart of “The Duke City” rises the Duke City Gladiators Professional Indoor Football Franchise. Since their inception, they have joined the Champions Indoor Football League which includes an 11-game schedule (six of which will be home games).

The Gladiators, which is comprised of many past-Lobos, will play at Tingley Coliseum this season with their first home game this Saturday, March 28 against an international team from Mexico in what will also be Hispanic Heritage night at Tingley Coliseum.

Duke City Gladiators Join the CIF League

This will be the city’s inaugural experience with the sport as it has only been as close as Rio Rancho. “We recognize that we are taking on a real challenge with the last minute nature of this team’s launching but we are very excited to be part of an excellent league like the CIF and feel well prepared to make this team one that the city can be proud of.” stated managing partner Matthew Caward in a recent press release.

Home Games Will Be At Tingley Coliseum

Although the Duke City Gladiators lost their first game on the road against the Texas Revolution, they are confident in a better outcome for their home opener.

To get the players ready for the season, they have been participating in high intensity “Marine Recon Training.” This style of training pushes players to their limits and has never been seen in the process of getting athletes ready for their upcoming seasons.

The Gladiators will be running obstacle courses, participating in endurance and conditioning tasks, and competing for time.
