When I was a student at UNM I would spend hours writing papers and completing projects in the booth by the window in Flying Star's Nob Hill location, and Sunday mornings I meet with my mom on their petio with her little white Maltese at the Juan Tabo location. Whether you go every week, once a month or every so often, there are some hidden gems inside every location every local must know about. I tried my first London Fog over the weekend and now I'm totally hooked. It's the perfect compliment to a lazy morning of writing and playing around with some photography. #londonfog #flyingstar #photography #typewriter #writerslife #eatink #girlswhowrite #poetryclub #thedrunkpoetssociety #writerswithtattoos #wordgasm #wordporn #poetsofinstagram #notebooktribe #postedpoems #melodeekorff #toxicpoetry #wordsgonewild #keyboardwarrior #poetry #poetryisnotdead #literaryalchemist #albuquerque #newmexico #newmexicotrue #landofenchantment #wordsontap #wordcartel #facelesspoetess #nikoncoolpixb500 A photo posted by Melodee Korff (@words.on.tap) on Oct 11, 2016 at 8:38am PDT Presented by Flying Star Cafe Come see Satellite Coffee baristas show off their latte art during this weekend's Latte Art Throwdown happening at the Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Fest. Flying Star makes their own pickles and a lot of them -- 24 gallons each month to be exact. So the next time your plate comes out with a pickle on the side or in your burger, know your dish really is made with a little something extra. A side worth ordering, every time Cheesy. Warm. Tasty. These are words that describe our Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Did you know? It's National Sandwich Day. A photo posted by Flying Star Caf? Made in-house every day and dusted with homemade BBQ seasoning; you have to try their barbeque chips in lieu of fries at least once and then you'll be hooked! My favorite is to order the Turkey Jack with a side of chips, trust me you'll love the combo. How humanely your meat is prepared I wish I could say I made this amazing meal, but it was date night with my oldest daughter tonight. My girl knows the way to my heart, because she chose my favorite place to eat, #flyingstarcafe. This is their Rosemary chicken with couscous risotto. So good! ???? And the best company a mom could ask for. ?? #eatclean A photo posted by Nicole Rhien (@keepingrealmom) on Mar 26, 2016 at 7:18pm PDT Their chicken strips, burgers and salads all share one delicious ingredient: chicken. Every chicken breast Flying Star serves is all natural, chemical free, cage free, with no added hormones.Check out their Food For Thought page which lets you know how their food is carefully made, prepared and purchased for each cafe. Look for them in the Falafel and Chicken Mediterranean salads. You'll always want more than one Welcome back.... ITALIAN RISOTTO POPPERS!! Yumm! A photo posted by Flying Star Caf? (@flyingstarcafe) on Jun 3, 2016 at 11:19am PDT These little (or actually they aren't little at all!) babies are unlike anything anywhere else! Arborio rice, quinoa, parmesan cheese, and herbs formed into little balls and fried into crunchy perfection. And don’t skimp on the Harissa Pesto served alongside them either. Flying Star Makes their own Harissa Sauce from scratch using Hungarian paprika, jalapenos, cayenne, and an array of fresh spices. Just like grandmother used to make Bet you would have never guessed that they make 60 gallons of strawberry jam each month. Homemade from scratch with fresh strawberries and unrefined sugar. Spread some on your toast, pancakes and anything else that needs a sweeter bite! Subscribe to get the best Albuquerque stories delivered free right to your inbox. Yes Please!
