By MorganCarter 10/30/2014

Denver News

Fall is here. The air is chilled, the trees are painted red and yellow and the sunlight is fading earlier each day. Yes, fall is here and with it comes fall flavors. Ease into the autumn months with these four fall cocktails.

Apple Pie a La Mode

Where: Thirsty Lion Gastropub

1605 Wynkoop St, Denver, CO

The Drink: The Apple Pie a La Mode is straight up apple pie in a glass. No joke, it might be better than grandmas. This cocktail mixes in vanilla vodka, Crispin apple cider, and butterscotch making one delicious drink. And the whipped cream on top? Well that just makes it taste like home.

The Dandy

Where: Bittersweet

500 E Alameda Ave Denver, CO 80209

The Dandy. Even the name sounds pleasant. Pear brandy, honey grappa, fresh basil and an Avery White Rascal makes for an amazing drink. Take this cocktail to the fire and relax.

Chai Tea Martini

Where: West Flanders Brewing Company, 1125 Pearl St, Boulder, CO

The Drink: I love chai tea. Turns out, I love it even more with a little fun added. This chilled coffee martini includes sweet horchata, chai liqueur and a nice undertone of vodka to add a little warmth to your bones. Come during happy hour and get one (or three) of these drinks for only five dollars.

Upslope Pumpkin Ale

Where: Upslope Brewing Company, 1501 Lee Hill Dr, Boulder, CO 80304

The Drink: The coming of fall brings pumpkin flavored everything. We have coffee, pie and beer is no exception. Among the wide variety of fall beer selections, Upslope's Pumpkin ale is one to be tried. Organic baby bear pumpkins are brewed into the ale, giving it a sweet and welcoming aroma. Pumpkin flavor is present, but not overwhelming as it is rounded out by subtle nutmeg and cinnamon spices. Add this beer to your pumpkin round up and you won't be disappointed.
