The 15 Best Eats North of SLC
If you're looking for something a little different to eat, jump in the car and head north to these 15 awesome restaurants.
1. The Timbermine
At the mouth of Ogden Canyon, the Timbermine (1701 Park Blvd Ogden, UT 84401) is fashioned after an old mining lodge. Try the halibut or a nice grilled steak and then take a walk down the Weber River walkway.
Maddox (1900 S Hwy 89, Perry, UT 84302) gives you the best of traditional American feel good foods. They start your meal by giving you the best roll you have ever had in your life and CORN BREAD. Fried chicken, chicken fried steak, salmon, steak, and bison all cooked to order.
5. Taggart's Grill
This one is a bit of a drive but whether you take the Ogden way or the Park City way the views are nothing short of beautiful. I'm going to get straight to the point- the best carrot cake in the world is served at Taggart's Grill (1105 Taggart Ln Morgan, UT 84050). All the other food is great as well.
Nestled in on Ogden's Historic 25th Street, Roosters (253 25th St Ogden, UT 84401) gives Squatters and Red Rock a run for its money as far as pub food goes. Begin your meal with the "What a Crock" a spinach dip you wish you could bath in its so good. Their ravioli is great and so is the jambalaya.
10. Prairie Schooner
Want to have dinner in your own covered wagon? Well, come to Ogden and go to the Prairie Schooner (445 Park Blvd Ogden, UT 84401). Throw in some fried mushrooms as a side to a great steak and you won't be disappointed.
14. Gabor Brothers Main Street Grill & Pizzeria
Small building so seating is limited and its a local favorite so there may be a wait, but it is worth it. Gabor Brothers (197 N Main St Layton, UT 84041) has spectacular pizza, great calzones and fantastic pasta.
